  1. I think it this group did a very good job of commenting on who the real monster of "Frankenstein" is, with tongue-in-cheek cleverness. The obvious villain of the novel is the "Monster", but in reality, it is Victor who creates his own despair. His egoism is so extreme that he actually thinks he believe he can, and should, take the creation of new life into his own hands. Had he not become so self-obsessed he would not have lost his entire family, for the Monster would not exist. Only once he experiences society's disgust at his disfigurement does he begin to indeed act monstrously. Great job.
